Thick angular frames against simple spindles offer a contrast that we love. Textured surfaces against clean solid objects provide a strong feeling of cubism that would make Picasso and Klee proud daddies. Our Two-tone finish adds yet another dimension to shapes and elements that are simple, yet sophisticated. Cribs and Case pieces ordered in our Mud with Snow finish, offer solid wood frames, heavily sandblasted, to reveal the natural topography of the woodgrain. The unique characture of the tree used in construction makes each piece a one of a kind masterpiece! We chose to finish the True Collection using contrast in color and texture, pairing a clean, fresh white with earthy warm age and wear. Pure passion from mother nature herself! The True Collection comes to you in the perfect finish, Mud with Snow. After mixing hundreds of white formulas at the Valspar lab. Milk Street?s Snow is the best white you will find. While it may seem easily achieved, we believe white is the toughest color to mix. It must be clean and simple with no yellow or pink undertones to be found. Every True Crib is a one of a kind work of art. The unique distressing techniques and color mix offers total depth with a multifaceted brown grey. The woodgrain of our Mud finish shows like mountain ranges, with peaks and valleys all of which reflect light at different angles. It offers a perfect contrast to Snow. •The Traditional Crib: Milk Street uses simple spindles against those thick textured frames to make this collection True to its name. Classically contemporary, we love the symmetry and height of this small-scale, show stopper. While two-toned and textured, this crib will catch your eye and capture your mind. The traditional True crib is ideal for that smaller space nursery. •Convertible Traditional Crib (3-in-1) All of our 3-in-1 cribs are convertible and are built from solid, sturdy, grade-A hardwood. Designed with stationary sides; no moving parts for safety. This crib fits a standard size crib mattress with mattresses sold separately. After your nursery needs have been met, your crib transitions into a tot bed, and a daybed that becomes a casual napping spot for any room in the house. These three modes allow your crib to convert and grow with your child. All of our traditional, convertible cribs offer a 3 position, metal mattress support system. When your baby is first born, you will want to keep your mattress at the top or highest position. As your baby starts standing, you will need to lower the heights. As your baby starts standing, you will know it is time to lower the heights. By the time your baby begins to pull up, usually around 5-6 months, the mattress height should be at its lowest point. Another name for this type of 3-in-1 crib is a traditional crib. Instead of having a high back, the traditional crib has two high side rails where both the back and the front gates can be lowered (35?). This crib is great for smaller sized nurseries. PLEASE DO NOT USE BUMPERS IN YOUR MILKSTREET CRIB. •CASES All of our cases are artisan built out of solid wood construction. The cases in the True Collection do use MDF as one of our materials. In order to get a smooth modern look and feel, this material does work best. Our cases require no assembly. Corner blocks are added to case frames for reinforced stability. Drawer boxes are built large for extra storage space with 15mm thick, sturdy sides. Each individual drawer box is also built with corner blocks to add strength and integrity, keeping drawers squared up. English dovetail joinery is used to assure drawers last. This joinery technique assures the strongest durability and highest quality in your drawers (holds up to 100lbs). We make our dovetails themselves extra deep, adding even more strength to a technique known, world-wide, as the highest of construction standards! The interiors of our drawers are sanded multiple times, then clear coated on all sides with a smooth finish to assure nothing will snag clothing. We use full-extension, high grade metal drawer glides, mounted underneath drawer bottoms to assure optimum operation for the life of your case. These mechanisms are also self-closing, which not only keeps your nursery quiet, but helps protect tiny fingers from slamming drawers! The backs of all Milk Street cases are finished, and screwed on for longevity; never stapled. The bottoms of all our cases feature a cedar dust catcher to keep clothes dust free and also to help protect woolen items. Up to 30 sets of hands will touch each Milk Street piece before it passes final inspection. Each case, as well as the hutch/bookcase includes anti-tipping hardware and foot levelers with instructions for ease of application and use.
